Vintage 2013 in Burgundy
Spring was very difficult to manage for the winegrowers: cool and humid, with a very late flowering, it took a lot of self-sacrifice and mastery to manage the vineyard work. On average, the harvest was announced for the month of October in Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune and Côte Chalonnaise… which is almost three weeks behind the average of the last decade, but in fact is not exceptional if we go back even 15 or 20 years. The return of the very good weather at the end of June and this month of July is changing things: the vine has already caught up probably at least a week on the theoretical "delay" of 3 weeks! So it is possible that the harvest will cross the border of October and September… but of course everything still depends on the month of August. and September!
